Im KALEMBA CHRISTOPHER born on 11 august 1960 in Southern Uganda near the boarder of Uganda and Tanzania. In Nkoni village ,Kakuuto subcounty, Rakai District. My mother who is still alive produced 6 children all were boys and Im the fifth and the only alive today! All died between the age 20 up to 39! HIV/AIDS started in our area so all my brothers and other pple died because of hiv/aids that is why I mobilised villagemates to start Nkoni school especially to assist orphans in 1993.
I offered 6 acres of land were the school was built and named Nkoni Education Centre which preesently has 624 pupils out of those 350 are orphans! All the brothers died in late 80s and early 90s they all left children below 10 years! In the neighbouring villages were full of orphans and needy children,this school has enabled many of them to receive education and we have many who are employed after training!
I went to school from primary,secondary up to U niversity which Im still attending! I have a diploma in Social Work and Social Administration plus other certificates is public administration,project management!
Presently I head a subcounty local government as chairperson for the last ten years! I will not renew my contract this I hope to concentrate on Nkoni project in the coming years!
Im married with Rosemary Nantongo for the last 25 years we have 9 children two are soon finishing university.
