At the beginning of the 90's, Uganda was one of the few democracies on the Horn of Africa, in constant financial growth and a relatively stable social-political situation.
After decades of bad government, like Idi Amin's, the head of the revolution Y. Museveni, who with his party lay the foundation for the free democratic elections, was elected.
From 1986 and until today, as head of a democratic government, Yoweri Museveni has brought Uganda to be rewarded several times by the World Bank for the economic situation (stable currency when faced with the strong western currency, inflation nearly zero) and it has sponsored various plans for restructure in the country, from the roads (main one's all asphalted at this point) to entire cities still marked from the revolution.
Being an interesting target for foreign investments, western countries; india; eastern countries , Uganda is developing a strong economy - compatible with the internal problems of decimation of the adult population caused by AIDS and the guerilla warfare to the north, in the area that borders to Sudan, where the gerillas ravage the countries in search of youth to enslave in their armies.
